Baird Farm
A four generation farm that spans 560 acres in Chittenden, Vermont, Jenna Baird and her partner Jacob run a successful maple retail business. Their love for maple goes beyond just syrup and they have created a truly Vermont condiment, Maple Ketchup. They also turn their maple in to a way to experience the whole forest with Spruce Tip Infused Syrup.
I performed the Graphic Design & Illustration on this project, while employed as a designer at Four Nine Design.
Farmhouse Maple Ketchup
For the label of this powerfully tomatoey and sweet ketchup I decided to create whimsical tomato illustrations. I used these to make a pattern in the label, and then we brought in the Baird Farm Logo and other branding elements. I found a typeface that paired well with the Baird type and created a lockup with the description.
The Whole Woods
I really wanted this bottle to stand out against the classic jugs that they offer the different grades and sizes in. I went for a darker look with a hint of bright green, the color of a young spruce tip. Getting a feeling of the whole woods I used an overhead photograph of a spruce forest similar to the overhead of the sugar bush that Baird owns and that is featured on their classic jugs. This special infused syrup really stands out.
